Hormiga Brava's founder and managing partner is Kevin Lawrie, a music industry professional with over 25 years of experience in artistic career development. Having lived and worked in New York, Spain, Mexico, Miami and London, he offers an informed international perspective. Lawrie has worked with artistic talent ranging from regional acts to global superstars such as Shakira, Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, Vicente Fernandez and Jennifer Lopez. While serving in a variety of roles in Latin America, including President Sony Music Latin, he was responsible for signing a new generation of critically acclaimed and commercially successful artists including Calle 13, Camila, Elefante, Ha*Ash, Natalia Lafourcade, Reik and Sin Bandera.
Recognizing the need for a more integrated and transparent talent management service in Latin America, Lawrie formed DAY1 Entertainment, a talent service company
operating within a traditional record company structure. Through organic signings and acquisition, namely that of Westwood Entertainment in 2007, DAY1/Westwood has become one of the largest
management companies in Latin America.
Hormiga Brava's artist management and consultancy clients have included Cafe Tacvba, Calle 13, iLe, Natalia Lafourcade, Mads Langer, Panteon Rococo, Residente and Tony Bennett.
